Ear Infections (Acute Ostis Media)

Ear Infection is the one of most common problem faced by childrens  but some time adults also.This is may  due to cold or massive fluid collecting behind the ear drum.This infection will affects the ear canal ,ear drum or middle ear.Consistent ear infection leads to hearing loss.



After Effects in Children

  • Hearing loss
  • Painful Ear
  • Fever of 100F or Higher
  • Ringing
  • Imbalance
  • Headache

After Effects in Adults

  • Severe Ear pain
  • Drainage of fluid from ear

Treatments

Infection is mainly caused by bacteria or virus. So the treatments such as killing any invading bacteria or virus in the Eustachian tube.To easing from pain the ear pain doctors will suggest a pain killer, typically such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen,which will also reduce severe fever.Avoid aspirin from children or teenagers  because of the treat of the Reye's syndrome. Prescription of ear drops will also helps to recover from the infections. Antibiotic therapy will be also recommended by doctors for the suffering patients.This will include major tests such as 

  • Tympanometry
  • Acoustic Reflectometry
  • Tympanocetensis etc
